Past Experience
We have extensive experience in large and small scale equine projects, from competition grade horse arenas to practice arenas for the beginner, all needs and requirements can be catered for.
Arenas can be built on any type of ground, as long as care is given to the drainage infrastructure, something which we have specialised in for a number of years.
Firstly the arena will be leveled using a cut and fill method, any overburden which remains can then be removed from the area or used to form a protective banking around the arena.
Next the engineered drainage structure will be formed and backfilled with uniform sized stone, as a sand arena without sufficient drainage will be of no use in a wet summer or winter.
A layer of crushed rock is then put down and covered by a layer of geotextile membrane, enabling your arena to survive years of extensive equine use.
Finally, the sand is brought in, and laid to a minimum depth of 4". This will allow your horse to be working in comfort without floundering in heavy deep sand.
Timber edging of your choice can be supplied and fitted, and we can also erect a fencing of your choice if required.
